Pistis Sophia is a Greek codex likely written around the 4th century. It is a tangle of Gnostic teachings that claim that Jesus hung around on earth for 11 years after His resurrection to teach His disciples about "the mystery." 

One must keep in mind that none of the teachings of Gnosticism line up with true Christianity. They proclaim that "Sophia" is considered a divine, even to be part of the Holy Spirit or visa versa.

The blaspheme is even made worse when this false visage is said to be at GOD's left hand, opposite her "husband" Christ Who is at GOD's right hand.

Many cults that are entangled with spiritualism have Gnostic ideas for their basis, especially those that mention "mother Earth" or "universal mother".

There is no relationship between any gnostic teaching and Christianity. 

Some scholars have claimed that Gnosticism predates Christianity, however, no gnostic texts have even been found that support that theory.

Salvation is by and through Jesus Christ alone. This is verified by His own words when He said, "I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me." John 14:6
If there had been an additional "way" to GOD, Jesus would have told of it. But His words were, and still are emphatic, much to the dismay of the world at large!

And our salvation is not dependent on whether or not we overcome our "carnal desires." The truth is, for as long as we are in these "carnal" bodies, bodies of flesh and blood, we are subject to the "carnal" world around us. 
But we should always remember Romans 8:6-7 when Paul said that to be "carnally" minded is an enmity against GOD and is death.

Is there a remedy? Yes praise GOD there is! 
It is found in His Word, as it says in 2 Cor. 10:4-5, "For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in GOD for pulling down strongholds,casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of GOD, bringing every thought into captivity (enslaving) to the obedience of Christ."

Always remembering that "grace and peace" is multiplied to us as we increase in the knowledge of GOD and of Jesus Christ.
And we have been given all things that pertain to life and godliness by His divine power. His promise that we be empowered by His Holy Spirit, is fulfilled when we are "born-again." (2 Peter 1:2-3)

So when the world pushes into ours, trying to influence our hearts and minds with the lusts of the flesh, we can turn to His Word for those "mighty weapons" and be "strong in the LORD" by putting on the "whole armor" of GOD. Ephesians 6:10-18

Sadly, it won't be easy, that is why we need His armor and His Word stored in our hearts and minds. Peter referred to us as "sojourners and pilgrims" who are in a battle with the flesh as it wars against our soul. We are to hold ourselves back from carnal thinking, resisting carnal lust. 1 Peter 2:11

But if we "desire the pure milk of the Word" that will enable us to grow, we will taste that the LORD "is gracious." 1 Peter 2:2-3

If you want to grow in your relationship with the LORD, then get into His Word.

Pistis sophia (faith in wisdom)is a Greek transliteration of a Gnostic teaching. However, they believe that Sophia(wisdom) is an actual female divine counterpart to Jesus; Him being on the right hand of the Father and her on the left. It also teaches that Jesus remained on earth for almost 11 years. While the bible says Jesus is on the right hand, and doesn't say whether anyone is or isn't on the left hand, it does say Jesus ascended to the Father to send the Comforter. This which the disciples received on Pentecost, which was about 40 days after Christs resurrection (Acts chap1-2). Without Jesus going to the Father, we don't have the Holy Spirit. (John 14:16-17).

Therefore, this teaching is anti-biblical.
