That the Bible originated in the mind of God makes it not only unique among all books, it is unique among all the treasures on earth. President Abraham Lincoln appropriately referred to the Bible a...

The first response should be a definition of mythology and one of allegory. The Bible is made up of an old and a new Testament. Most of these answers refer to the New Testament, which indeed describes true events, thus it is comprised of various perspectives from authors that lived within 100 years of the events or during the actual time. If anything it is a history.

The Old Testament lays out creation and many events that cannot be explained scientifically along an abbreviated timeline. Many discount the entire Bible because the timeline is wrong (the Earth is older than 6,000 years), BUT this does NOT make the Old Testament mythology, it makes it allegorical and in no way means its contents did not happen.

One of my (many) favorite verses is Luke 19:40. “”Blessed is the king who comes in the name of the Lord!” “Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!” Some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to Jesus, “Teacher, rebuke your disciples!” “I tell you,” he replied, “if they keep quiet, the stones will cry out.””

The last sentence above is verse 40. What this verse says to me is: “Open your eyes and look around you. Evidence of God is all everywhere. By praising His name, the disciples were testifying about God. His worthiness, His power, His grace, His love. If you won’t believe them, look around you!”

I could go on and on about what I see (for instance, the relationship of a bee and a flower), but space here would not do justice. Instead I invite you to read “The Signature of God” by Grant Jeffries. In it, he does a great job of presenting vast evidence of how God has left his signature on the Earth for all to see. Even on the rocks!
