The little book of James chapter 1:12, "Blessed is the man who endures temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the Crown of Life which the Lord has promised to them that love Him." When we are tested in this life, if we remain true to our faith in God we will receive this treasure.

How do we do this? John14:15, "If you love Me, keep My Commandments." That is to say, the sacrifice that Lord Jesus made to save us must never, never be compromised by trusting in any other God.

Romans 6:3,5,11,14, tells us that when Christ died on the cross, believers died for their sins with Him. God sees us cleansed from sin and clothed in Christ's righteousness. Our natural sin nature, has died, we now live a different life. We are alive to the things of God. Jesus lives in US. The Holy Spirit becomes our guide. From now on we live not under law, but in the Grace of God. The Spirit helps us fight the old nature daily.

Revelation 2:10,"Fear none of those things which you shall suffer: behold the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that you may be tried; and you shall have tribulation ten days: be faithful unto death, and I will give you a Crown of Life."

In this address to the church at Smyrna, Christ declares they are rich in spirit. He knows about any who do not believe in Him. He knows about the persecution of believers. He knows about the suffering. BUT, the reward is the Crown of Life. You will not see the second death...that is eternal separation from God in the lake of fire. (Revelation 21:8)
