There are many consequences of sin that one can enumerate. They maybe personal, psychological, mental, societal, etc. But, what can be more final and ultimate consequence of sin than "second death". We are being saved from this "second death" which has no resurrection. It is appointed unto man once to die and afterwards, judgment at resurrection (Heb. 9:27). All will die and all will have a first resurrection and judgment.

John 3:18 Believers can no longer be condemned. John 6:47. Verily verily I say unto you, he that believeth on me, HATH (present tense) EVERLASTING LIFE. How long does everlasting life last? Forever. It is eternal life. Not temporary life or probationary life, but eternal life. You can not lose eternal life. If you have eternal life today, you will still have it 1,000 years from now because it is eternal. First John 5:13 These things have I written unto you that Believe on the name of the Son of God, that ye may KNOW YE HAVE ETERNAL LIFE. Gods word. John 6:40. Gods word. John 3:18. Gods word. John 5:24. Gods word. John 10:28-29. Gods word. He has a hold of me. If you can not trust God, who can you trust. Jesus gave me eternal life 74 years ago, and I still have it. I accepted His free gift of eternal life by faith alone apart from any works. Our works can not save sinners which we all are. Romans 1:16. For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the POWER Of God, unto salvation, to everyone that believeth, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. The only reason I am going to heaven is because of five words. First Corinthians 15:1-4. Christ died for my sins. All of them forever. John 3:18. No longer condemned to hell. I can not go to hell because I have no sins to pay for. Romans 4:7-8.

As believers we do not experience separation from God when we sin; however, we do experience a break in our relationship with Him. There is tension in our communion with Him. As a result, we may experience confusion, loneliness, guilt, purposelessness, or the like. This is what spiritual death feels like. For believers, this is not a permanent state. But it is a consequence of unconfessed sin. Compellingtruth.org Each [sin] is followed by negative consequences. Adam and Eve’s disobedience led to pain and frustration in two basic areas of fulfillment—relationships and meaningful work. The whole earth fell under sin’s curse, and all people born since then have entered the world with a sin nature that alienates them from the Lord. CS Some sins are so serious that even sincere repentance can’t erase their earthly consequences. Sins like murder and adultery can be forgiven by God in the ultimate sense and by fellow Christians in the sense of hoping for a sinner’s restoration, but the damage such sins inflict usually cannot be undone in this life, and consequences such as imprisonment or divorce may be unavoidable. David was forgiven after being with Bathsheba, but he suffered the consequences of his adultery for years to come, and he suffered in the hardest way: through his own children. Also another example is that divorce is shown to have more severe financial consequences for women than for men. Research has found that a woman’s disposable income drops about 30 percent after a divorce while a man’s falls about 10 percent (Stroup and Pollock, 1994). “As it is written: “There is no one righteous, not even one;” (Romans 3:10) “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” (Romans 3:23)After establishing that “all have sinned,” the first half of Romans 6:23 explains the depth of this problem and its consequences. “For the wages of sin is death…” (Romans 6:23a) The second step on the Romans Road tells us that our sin “EARNS” us something..Romans 6:23 – “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Here’s what is guaranteed in this passage, The wages of ONE SIN is death.
