Because Jesus came with love and wanted to save lives not destroy them. James and john wanted to go in hard, Jesus had more compassion. Just like when peter cut off the the high priests servants ear, Jesus put it back on again. We can be to hard on people and judge them too harshly, thus cutting off the ear and they won't want to listen. But bring Jesus to people through your life and God willing he will put their ear on.
