Ezekiel 7:23-27

The Day of the Wrath of the Lord

²³ _o "Forge a chain! _{1 p} For the land is full of bloody crimes _q and the city is full of violence. ²⁴ I will bring _r the worst of the nations to take possession of their houses. _s I will put an end to the pride of the strong, _t and their holy places ₂ shall be profaned. ²⁵ _u When anguish comes, _v they will seek peace, but there shall be none. ²⁶ _w Disaster comes upon disaster; _x rumor follows rumor. _y They seek a vision from the prophet, while _z the law ₃ perishes from the priest and _a counsel from the elders. ²⁷ The king mourns, the prince is wrapped in despair, and the hands of the people of the land are paralyzed by terror. According to their way _b I will do to them, and according to their judgments I will judge them, _c and they shall know that I am the Lord."
