Acts 15:1-5

The Jerusalem Council

¹ _y But some men came down from Judea and were teaching _z the brothers, "Unless you are _a circumcised _b according to the custom of Moses, you cannot be saved." ² And after Paul and Barnabas had no small dissension and _c debate with them, Paul and Barnabas and _d some of the others were appointed to go up to Jerusalem to _e the apostles and the elders about this question. ³ So, _f being sent on their way by the church, they passed through both Phoenicia and Samaria, _g describing in detail the conversion of the Gentiles, and _h brought great joy to all _i the brothers. ₁ ⁴ _j When they came to Jerusalem, they were welcomed by the church and _k the apostles and the elders, and _g they declared all that God had done with them. ⁵ But some believers who belonged to _l the party of the Pharisees rose up and said, _m "It is necessary _n to circumcise them and to order them to keep the law of Moses."
