Now when Jesus came into the district of Caesarea Philippi, He was asking His disciples, "Who do people say that the Son of Man is?"

Now after the Sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to look at the grave.
As He was getting into the boat, the man who had been demon-possessed was imploring Him that he might accompany Him.
They also had a few small fish; and after He had blessed them, He ordered these to be served as well.
And He continued by questioning them, "But who do you say that I am?" Peter answered and said to Him, "You are the Christ."
As they were passing by in the morning, they saw the fig tree withered from the roots up.
They came again to Jerusalem. And as He was walking in the temple, the chief priests and the scribes and the elders came to Him,
As they were reclining at the table and eating, Jesus said, "Truly I say to you that one of you will betray Me--one who is eating with Me."
And Jesus said to them, "Have you come out with swords and clubs to arrest Me, as you would against a robber?
"But go, tell His disciples and Peter, 'He is going ahead of you to Galilee; there you will see Him, just as He told you.'"
And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read.
And He said to them, "No doubt you will quote this proverb to Me, 'Physician, heal yourself! Whatever we heard was done at Capernaum, do here in your hometown as well.'"
"Blessed are you when men hate you, and ostracize you, and insult you, and scorn your name as evil, for the sake of the Son of Man.
While he was saying this, a cloud formed and began to overshadow them; and they were afraid as they entered the cloud.
When He saw them, He said to them, "Go and show yourselves to the priests." And as they were going, they were cleansed.
"For indeed, the Son of Man is going as it has been determined; but woe to that man by whom He is betrayed!"
And a servant-girl, seeing him as he sat in the firelight and looking intently at him, said, "This man was with Him too."
