Introduction to the Law
Now this is the law which Moses set before the children of Israel.
These are the testimonies, the statutes, and the judgments which Moses spoke to the children of Israel after they came out of Egypt,
on this side of the Jordan, j in the valley opposite Beth Peor, in the land of Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt at Heshbon, whom Moses and the children of Israel k defeated after they came out of Egypt.
And they took possession of his land and the land l of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, who were on this side of the Jordan, toward the rising of the sun,
m from Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, even to Mount Sion (that is, n Hermon),
and all the plain on the east side of the Jordan as far as the Sea of the Arabah, below the o slopes of Pisgah.

So we stayed in the valley opposite Beth Peor.
Then Israel defeated him with the edge of the sword, and took possession of his land from the Arnon to the Jabbok, as far as the people of Ammon; for the border of the people of Ammon was fortified.
After he had killed Sihon king of the Amorites, who dwelt in Heshbon, and Og king of Bashan, who dwelt at Ashtaroth in Edrei.
Numbers 21:33 - 35
And they turned and went up by the way to Bashan. So Og king of Bashan went out against them, he and all his people, to battle at Edrei.
From Aroer, which is on the bank of the River Arnon, and from the city that is in the ravine, as far as Gilead, there was not one city too strong for us; the LORD our God delivered all to us.
And this land, which we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which is by the River Arnon, and half the mountains of Gilead and its cities, I gave to the Reubenites and the Gadites.
(the Sidonians call Hermon Sirion, and the Amorites call it Senir).
It is like the dew of Hermon, Descending upon the mountains of Zion; For there the LORD commanded the blessing - Life forevermore.
The plain also, with the Jordan as the border, from Chinnereth as far as the east side of the Sea of the Arabah (the Salt Sea), below the slopes of Pisgah.
