The Day of Atonement
And the LORD spoke to Moses, saying:
r "Also the tenth day of this seventh month shall be the Day of Atonement. It shall be a holy convocation for you; you shall afflict your souls, and offer an offering made by fire to the LORD.
"And you shall do no work on that same day, for it is the Day of Atonement, s to make atonement for you before the LORD your God.
"For any person who is not t afflicted in soul on that same day u shall be cut off from his people.
"And any person who does any work on that same day, v that person I will destroy from among his people.
"You shall do no manner of work; it shall be a statute forever throughout your generations in all your dwellings.
"It shall be to you a sabbath of solemn rest, and you shall afflict your souls; on the ninth day of the month at evening, from evening to evening, you shall celebrate your sabbath."

Leviticus 16:1 - 34
Now the LORD spoke to Moses after the death of the two sons of Aaron, when they offered profane fire before the LORD, and died.
Then you shall cause the trumpet of the Jubilee to sound on the tenth day of the seventh month; on the Day of Atonement you shall make the trumpet to sound throughout all your land.
On the tenth day of this seventh month you shall have a holy convocation. You shall afflict your souls; you shall not do any work.
This shall be an everlasting statute for you, to make atonement for the children of Israel, for all their sins, once a year." And he did as the LORD commanded Moses.
And in that day the Lord GOD of hosts Called for weeping and for mourning, For baldness and for girding with sackcloth.
They shall come with weeping, And with supplications I will lead them. I will cause them to walk by the rivers of waters, In a straight way in which they shall not stumble; For I am a Father to Israel, And Ephraim is My firstborn.
Those who survive will escape and be on the mountains Like doves of the valleys, All of them mourning, Each for his iniquity.
"And the uncircumcised male child, who is not circumcised in the flesh of his foreskin, that person shall be cut off from his people; he has broken My covenant."
He shall be unclean. All the days he has the sore he shall be unclean. He is unclean, and he shall dwell alone; his dwelling shall be outside the camp.
Command the children of Israel that they put out of the camp every leper, everyone who has a discharge, and whoever becomes defiled by a corpse.
Leviticus 20:3 - 6
I will set My face against that man, and will cut him off from his people, because he has given some of his descendants to Molech, to defile My sanctuary and profane My holy name.
