Jesus Again Foretells His Death
And they were all amazed at the majesty of God. But while everyone marveled at all the things which Jesus did, He said to His disciples,
i "Let these words sink down into your ears, for the Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men."
j But they did not understand this saying, and it was hidden from them so that they did not perceive it; and they were afraid to ask Him about this saying.

Now while they were staying in Galilee, Jesus said to them, "The Son of Man is about to be betrayed into the hands of men.
Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem, and the Son of Man will be betrayed to the chief priests and to the scribes; and they will condemn Him to death and deliver Him to the Gentiles.
And they led Jesus away to the high priest; and with him were assembled all the chief priests, the elders, and the scribes.
Having arrested Him, they led Him and brought Him into the high priest's house. But Peter followed at a distance.
Then the detachment of troops and the captain and the officers of the Jews arrested Jesus and bound Him.
But they did not understand this saying, and were afraid to ask Him.
But they did not understand the statement which He spoke to them.
But they understood none of these things; this saying was hidden from them, and they did not know the things which were spoken.
