The Coming Glory of the Temple
In the seventh month, on the twenty-first of the month, the word of the LORD came by Haggai the prophet, saying:
"Speak now to Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and to the remnant of the people, saying:
a 'Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? In comparison with it, b is this not in your eyes as nothing?
'Yet now c be strong, Zerubbabel,' says the LORD; 'and be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest; and be strong, all you people of the land,' says the LORD, 'and work; for I am with you,' says the LORD of hosts.
d 'According to the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, so e My Spirit remains among you; do not fear!'
"For thus says the LORD of hosts: f 'Once more (it is a little while) g I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land;
'and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to h the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with i glory,' says the LORD of hosts.
'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts.
j 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts'And in this place I will give k peace,' says the LORD of hosts."

But many of the priests and Levites and heads of the fathers' houses, old men who had seen the first temple, wept with a loud voice when the foundation of this temple was laid before their eyes. Yet many shouted aloud for joy.
So that the people could not discern the noise of the shout of joy from the noise of the weeping of the people, for the people shouted with a loud shout, and the sound was heard afar off.
For who has despised the day of small things? For these seven rejoice to see The plumb line in the hand of Zerubbabel. They are the eyes of the LORD, Which scan to and fro throughout the whole earth.

Thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Let your hands be strong, You who have been hearing in these days These words by the mouth of the prophets, Who spoke in the day the foundation was laid For the house of the LORD of hosts, That the temple might be built.
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
I will dwell among the children of Israel and will be their God.
And they shall know that I am the LORD their God, who brought them up out of the land of Egypt, that I may dwell among them. I am the LORD their God.
You also gave Your good Spirit to instruct them, And did not withhold Your manna from their mouth, And gave them water for their thirst.
Then he remembered the days of old, Moses and his people, saying: "Where is He who brought them up out of the sea With the shepherd of His flock? Where is He who put His Holy Spirit within them.
As a beast goes down into the valley, And the Spirit of the LORD causes him to rest, So You lead Your people, To make Yourself a glorious name.
Whose voice then shook the earth; but now He has promised, saying, "Yet once more I shake not only the earth, but also heaven.
The LORD also will roar from Zion, And utter His voice from Jerusalem; The heavens and earth will shake; But the LORD will be a shelter for His people, And the strength of the children of Israel.
The scepter shall not depart from Judah, Nor a lawgiver from between his feet, Until Shiloh comes; And to Him shall be the obedience of the people.
Behold, I send My messenger, And he will prepare the way before Me. And the Lord, whom you seek, Will suddenly come to His temple, Even the Messenger of the covenant, In whom you delight. Behold, He is coming," Says the LORD of hosts.

'For I,' says the LORD, 'will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst.'"
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.
I will hear what God the LORD will speak, For He will speak peace To His people and to His saints; But let them not turn back to folly.
Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land.
"Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!"
For He Himself is our peace, who has made both one, and has broken down the middle wall of separation.
