The Feast of Booths

Leviticus 23

33 And the LORD spoke unto Moses, saying, 34 Speak unto the sons of Israel, saying, The fifteenth day of this seventh month shall be the feast of tabernacles unto the LORD for seven days. 35 The first day shall be a holy convocation: ye shall do no servile work therein. 36 Seven days ye shall offer an offering on fire unto the LORD; the eighth day ye shall have a holy convocation and offer an offering on fire unto the LORD; it is a feast; and ye shall do no servile work therein.

37 These are the feasts of the LORD, unto which ye shall be summoned: holy convocations to offer an offering on fire unto the LORD, a burnt offering and a present, a sacrifice and drink offerings, every thing in its proper time; 38 in addition the sabbaths of the LORD and in addition to your gifts and in addition to all your vows, and in addition to all your freewill offerings, which ye shall give unto the LORD.

39 But in the fifteenth day of the seventh month, when ye have gathered in the fruit of the land, ye shall keep a feast unto the LORD seven days; the first day shall be a sabbath, and on the eighth day shall also be a sabbath. 40 And on the first day ye shall take branches with fruit of a beautiful tree, palm branches and the boughs of thick trees and willows of the brook; and ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God seven days. 41 And ye shall keep this feast unto the LORD for seven days each year. It shall be a perpetual statute for your ages; ye shall celebrate it in the seventh month. 42 Ye shall dwell in tabernacles seven days; all that are natural of Israel shall dwell in booths, 43 that your descendants may know that I made the sons of Israel to dwell in tabernacles when I brought them out of the land of Egypt. I AM your God.

44 Thus Moses declared unto the sons of Israel the feasts of the LORD.
