Jacob Sent to Laban
Then Isaac called Jacob g and blessed him and directed him, f "You must not take a wife from the Canaanite women.
h Arise, go to Paddan-aram to the house of i Bethuel your mother's father, and take as your wife from there one of the daughters of Laban your mother's brother.
j God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and multiply you, that you may become a company of peoples.
May he give k the blessing of Abraham to you and to your offspring with you, that you may take possession of l the land of your sojournings that God gave to Abraham!"
Thus Isaac sent Jacob away. And he went to Paddan-aram, to Laban, the son of Bethuel the Aramean, the brother of Rebekah, Jacob's and Esau's mother.

Now Esau saw that Isaac had blessed Jacob and sent him away to Paddan-aram to take a wife from there, and that as he blessed him he directed him, "You must not take a wife from the Canaanite women.
Then Rebekah said to Isaac, "I loathe my life because of the Hittite women. If Jacob marries one of the Hittite women like these, one of the women of the land, what good will my life be to me?
Jacob fled to the land of Aram; there Israel served for a wife, and for a wife he guarded sheep.
( Bethuel fathered Rebekah.) These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother.
When Abram was ninety-nine years old the Lord appeared to Abram and said to him, "I am God Almighty; walk before me, and be blameless.
Genesis 12:2 - 3
And I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you and make your name great, so that you will be a blessing.
And I will give to you and to your offspring after you the land of your sojournings, all the land of Canaan, for an everlasting possession, and I will be their God.
For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together. The land of their sojournings could not support them because of their livestock.
Jacob lived in the land of his father's sojournings, in the land of Canaan.
