Jesus Appears to His Disciples
As they were talking about these things, c Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, "Peace to you!"
But they were d startled and e frightened and f thought they saw a spirit.
And he said to them, "Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts?
See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. g Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have."
And when he had said this, h he showed them his hands and his feet.
And while they still disbelieved i for joy and were marveling, j he said to them, "Have you anything here to eat?"
They gave him a piece of broiled fish,
and he took it and ate before them.
Then he said to them, k "These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, l that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled."
Then m he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures,
and said to them, "Thus n it is written, o that the Christ should suffer and on the third day p rise from the dead,
and that q repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed r in his name s to all nations, t beginning from Jerusalem.
u You are witnesses of these things.
And behold, I am sending v the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you w are clothed with x power y from on high."

Afterward he appeared to the eleven themselves as they were reclining at table, and he rebuked them for their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they had not believed those who saw him after he had risen.
On the evening of that day, the first day of the week, the doors being locked where the disciples were for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you.
And when you hear of wars and tumults, do not be terrified, for these things must first take place, but the end will not be at once.
And as they were frightened and bowed their faces to the ground, the men said to them, "Why do you seek the living among the dead?
But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, "It is a ghost!" and they cried out in fear.
But when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out.
1 John 1:1
That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we looked upon and have touched with our hands, concerning the word of life -
Then he said to Thomas, "Put your finger here, and see my hands; and put out your hand, and place it in my side. Do not disbelieve, but believe.
When he had said this, he showed them his hands and his side. Then the disciples were glad when they saw the Lord.
Recognizing Peter's voice, in her joy she did not open the gate but ran in and reported that Peter was standing at the gate.
And they told him, "Joseph is still alive, and he is ruler over all the land of Egypt." And his heart became numb, for he did not believe them.
Jesus said to them, "Children, do you have any fish?" They answered him, "No.
He is not here, but has risen. Remember how he told you, while he was still in Galilee.
And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.
They said to each other, "Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?
Then he opens the ears of men and terrifies them with warnings.
Open my eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of your law.
One who heard us was a woman named Lydia, from the city of Thyatira, a seller of purple goods, who was a worshiper of God. The Lord opened her heart to pay attention to what was said by Paul.
1 John 5:20
And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know him who is true; and we are in him who is true, in his Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
The Son of Man goes as it is written of him, but woe to that man by whom the Son of Man is betrayed! It would have been better for that man if he had not been born.
That the Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men and be crucified and on the third day rise.
Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?
For as yet they did not understand the Scripture, that he must rise from the dead.
God exalted him at his right hand as Leader and Savior, to give repentance to Israel and forgiveness of sins.
And Peter said to them, "Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

And while staying with them he ordered them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the promise of the Father, which, he said, "you heard from me.
Being therefore exalted at the right hand of God, and having received from the Father the promise of the Holy Spirit, he has poured out this that you yourselves are seeing and hearing.
In him you also, when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation, and believed in him, were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit.
Acts 2:16 - 17
But this is what was uttered through the prophet Joel:
I put on righteousness, and it clothed me; my justice was like a robe and a turban.
Let your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let your saints shout for joy.
But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.
