Ask a QuestionThen Joseph's master took him and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were confined. And he was there in the prison.
Then Joseph said to Pharaoh, "The dreams of Pharaoh are one; God has shown Pharaoh what He is about to do:
Joseph called the name of the firstborn Manasseh: "For God has made me forget all my toil and all my father's house."
Hate evil, love good; Establish justice in the gate. It may be that the LORD God of hosts Will be gracious to the remnant of Joseph.
Then they said to one another, "Look, this dreamer is coming!
When Jacob saw that there was grain in Egypt, Jacob said to his sons, "Why do you look at one another?"
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Joseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!
And Joseph said to his brethren, "I am dying; but God will surely visit you, and bring you out of this land to the land of which He swore to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob."
But the LORD was with Joseph and showed him mercy, and He gave him favor in the sight of the keeper of the prison.
Then Pharaoh sent and called Joseph, and they brought him quickly out of the dungeon; and he shaved, changed his clothing, and came to Pharaoh.
So all countries came to Joseph in Egypt to buy grain, because the famine was severe in all lands.
So it came to pass, when Joseph had come to his brothers, that they stripped Joseph of his tunic, the tunic of many colors that was on him.
Joseph said to them, "Do not be afraid, for am I in the place of God?
Seek the LORD and live, Lest He break out like fire in the house of Joseph, And devour it, With no one to quench it in Bethel -
Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not wanting to make her a public example, was minded to put her away secretly.
Joseph saw Ephraim's children to the third generation. The children of Machir, the son of Manasseh, were also brought up on Joseph's knees.
And they said, "Is not this Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, 'I have come down from heaven'?"
So Joseph dwelt in Egypt, he and his father's household. And Joseph lived one hundred and ten years.
When they had finished the days, as they returned, the Boy Jesus lingered behind in Jerusalem. And Joseph and His mother did not know it;
Then he dreamed still another dream and told it to his brothers, and said, "Look, I have dreamed another dream. And this time, the sun, the moon, and the eleven stars bowed down to me."
