Whoever is found will be thrust through,and whoever is caught will fall by the sword.
Seek and read from the book of the Lord:Not one of these shall be missing;none shall be without her mate.For the mouth of the Lord has commanded,and his Spirit has gathered them.
All these things my hand has made,and so all these things came to be,declares the Lord.But this is the one to whom I will look:he who is humble and contrite in spiritand trembles at my word.
Therefore thus says the Lord concerning the prophets who prophesy in my name although I did not send them, and who say, 'Sword and famine shall not come upon this land': By sword and famine those prophets shall be consumed.
When those went, these went; and when those stood, these stood; and when those rose from the earth, the wheels rose along with them, for the spirit of the living creatures was in the wheels.
At last Daniel came in before me - he who was named Belteshazzar after the name of my god, and in whom is the spirit of the holy gods - and I told him the dream, saying,
"And it shall come to pass afterward,that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh;your sons and your daughters shall prophesy,your old men shall dream dreams,and your young men shall see visions.
Therefore thus says the Lord: "'Your wife shall be a prostitute in the city,and your sons and your daughters shall fall by the sword,and your land shall be divided up with a measuring line;you yourself shall die in an unclean land,and Israel shall surely go into exile away from its land.'"
And the Lord stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people. And they came and worked on the house of the Lord of hosts, their God,
according to the covenant that I made with you when you came out of Egypt. My Spirit remains in your midst. Fear not.
Then he cried to me, "Behold, those who go toward the north country have set my Spirit at rest in the north country."
Then the Lord said, "My Spirit shall not abide in man forever, for he is flesh: his days shall be 120 years."
And as they fled before Israel, while they were going down the ascent of Beth-horon, the Lord threw down large stones from heaven on them as far as Azekah, and they died. There were more who died because of the hailstones than the sons of Israel killed with the sword.
And the men of Judah fought against Jerusalem and captured it and struck it with the edge of the sword and set the city on fire.
And they mourned and wept and fasted until evening for Saul and for Jonathan his son and for the people of the Lord and for the house of Israel, because they had fallen by the sword.
Then rose up the heads of the fathers' houses of Judah and Benjamin, and the priests and the Levites, everyone whose spirit God had stirred to go up to rebuild the house of the Lord that is in Jerusalem.
While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, "The Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you."
The Lord is near to the brokenheartedand saves the crushed in spirit.
