"I sent among you a pestilence after the manner of Egypt;I killed your young men with the sword,and carried away your horses,and I made the stench of your camp go up into your nostrils;yet you did not return to me,"declares the Lord.
"Woe to my worthless shepherd,who deserts the flock!May the sword strike his armand his right eye!Let his arm be wholly withered,his right eye utterly blinded!"
And his comrade answered, "This is no other than the sword of Gideon the son of Joash, a man of Israel; God has given into his hand Midian and all the camp."

So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet after Athaliah had been put to death with the sword at the king's house.
You gave your good Spirit to instruct them and did not withhold your manna from their mouth and gave them water for their thirst.
Therefore say, 'Thus says the Lord God: Though I removed them far off among the nations, and though I scattered them among the countries, yet I have been a sanctuary to them for a while in the countries where they have gone.'
And I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops, and I will unsheathe the sword after them.
Into his right hand comes the divination for Jerusalem, to set battering rams, to open the mouth with murder, to lift up the voice with shouting, to set battering rams against the gates, to cast up mounds, to build siege towers.
therefore thus says the Lord of hosts: "Behold, I will punish them. The young men shall die by the sword, their sons and their daughters shall die by famine,
We get our bread at the peril of our lives,because of the sword in the wilderness.
A third part of you shall die of pestilence and be consumed with famine in your midst; a third part shall fall by the sword all around you; and a third part I will scatter to all the winds and will unsheathe the sword after them.
I will send famine and wild beasts against you, and they will rob you of your children. Pestilence and blood shall pass through you, and I will bring the sword upon you. I am the Lord; I have spoken."
But as for those whose heart goes after their detestable things and their abominations, I will bring their deeds upon their own heads, declares the Lord God."
Then this Daniel became distinguished above all the other presidents and satraps, because an excellent spirit was in him. And the king planned to set him over the whole kingdom.
Even on the male and female servantsin those days I will pour out my Spirit.
