I think that what matters most is our actions, rather than our feelings. One Christian commentator I read (it may have been C. S. Lewis) said that, in cases where we don't particularly "like" someone, we should ask ourselves, "How would I behave toward this person if I did like them?", and then act that way. That, in my view, is not being hypocritical. It is just doing what God expects of us. And the longer we act that way, the more we will find that our feelings will follow, and we will find ourselves actually regarding the person as more likable.
