Why is Jesus going to return on a white horse?

In ancient times a white horse was used by a conquering king who would ride into a city conquered. The Scripture indicates that Jesus will return on a white horse, but we know this rider in Revelation 6:2 cannot be Jesus because he is the first of four riders that are sent as a judgment at the beginning of the tribulation. The rider on the white horse in Rev. 19:11 IS Christ. 

The rider
on the white horse (Rev. 6:2) is the false Christ, but
this Rider is the true Christ. He is not coming in the
air to take His people home (1 Thess. 4:13-18), but to
the earth with His people, to conquer His enemies and
establish His kingdom.

Note the emphasis on Jesus’ names (Rev. 19:11-13, 16). He is “Faithful and True” (see Rev. 3:14), in contrast to “the beast” who was unfaithful (he broke the covenant with Israel) and false (he ruled by means of deception and idolatry). Suffering saints need to be reminded that God is faithful and will not desert them, because His promises are true.

Perhaps the “secret name” (see Rev. 19:12) is the
same as the “new name” (Rev. 3:12). Not knowing
what this name is, we cannot comment on it, but it is
exciting to know that, even in heaven, we shall learn
new things about our Lord Jesus!

[Rev 19:11] Come, Thou Conqueror Of The Nations
Come, Thou Conqueror of the nations,
Now on Thy white horse appear;
Earthquakes, famines, desolations
Signify Thy kingdom near:
True and faithful!
Stablish Thy dominion here.

Thine the kingdom, power, and glory;
Thine the ransomed nations are.
Let the heathen fall before Thee,
Let the isles Thy power declare.
Judge and conquer
All mankind in righteous war.

Thee let all mankind admire,
Object of our joy and dread!
Flame Thine eyes with heavenly fire,
Many crowns upon Thy head.
But Thine essence
None, except Thyself, can read.

By the Father’s grace bestowed;
Meanly clothed in human nature,

A horse ridden in the Bible is a symbol of battle or war, since horses were typically used then for cavalry or pulling chariots. When Christ comes to judge the nations he will slay the Antichrist "...whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth and with the brightness of his coming;" (2 Thes 2:8). A real physical horse is not implied by John's vision, but a spirit of battle and victory truly is. 

Jesus' second coming is also described in Acts 1:11 "...Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven." No animals are mentioned.
