The answer to returning to God, whether we have sinned willfully or unintentionally, is always to humbly recognize that we are sinner's, and to ask God to forgive us. His forgiveness is not based on our own merit, but because of the shed blood of Jesus Christ, who paid for the entire debt of sin.

Isaiah 53:6 tells us that we are all like sheep that got lost and turned our own way while chasing after greener grass. But God laid all our sinful ways upon Jesus.

Our willful independent nature would say, "I have to pay for my own debt", but that would only lead to more sin; being prideful. And what do we have to take pride in, when we continually go our own way and add to the debt! Your debt has been paid! Come out of prison, and walk like a free man.

I believe there was a similar question that once had been answered.

The question most people may be asking is, "Can I sin willfully by, committing adultery, fornicate, lie, steal, curse, be extremely bitter toward someone, and/or have bad habits using chemicals to relax, feel happy, or control how I act.

When the idea of a question like can I commit sin and still be saved will depends on what relationship they have with our Lord. We have the Bible, God has given us many forms of commentaries, theologians, and plenty of churches to attend worship services. If someone begins struggling with temptation, such as lusting after a man or woman, what deceiving situation triggered the temptation? Was that person who has a spouse with children begin feeling trapped, bored, engage in continuous arguments, or feeling lonely?

Three very distinctive sin nature events anybody who comes to Jesus our Savior should study, pray about, and watch as we all journey down that narrow path.

Transgression, the sins we commit before and after finding Christ. The outer sin actions we preform due to our lack of knowledge of sin, the action we commit unknowingly, and failure to understand the consequences.

Regression, the action we commit knowingly once God opens our eyes to the sin nature we commit and return too by temptations attacks. This deceiving action is in Romans 7. 

Inequity, the inner sin that triggers many tempting situations that is a direct action of sin which is known by the person to be wrong and understand the consequence that follow. A type of rebellious act against God. Galatians 5 19-23, Paul teaches that our inequities if not handled correctly will lead us further into darkness, this sinful stage of our lives forces us to seek help if we our willing to admit struggles are above our understanding.

We can fall from Grace, the world places every obstacle to block Gods wisdom from our minds. The only peace we have is Jesus and if we our willing to confess we cannot handle the presence of temptation God will provide the way out. 

We fail Him, not Jesus failing us. We were designed in His image, and Jesus lived with sin, knowing we cannot make it without Him, He went to the cross to endure what we are unable to endure. The question, "Can we sin willfully and return to God?" yes, we have that opportunity to have fallen and sincerely repent never returning to the sin nor turning away. Once a person turns away too many times they may find themselves never being able to turn back.

I understand the term "to sin wilfully" is to reject the only sacrifice acceptable to God as payment for man's sin. This is the shed blood, death, burial and resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. "Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved." (Acts 4:12).

If you are truly saved, have been born again, born from above and are convicted of sin, 
1 John 1:9 tells us: "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."

If we say we have no sin the truth and the love of God is not in us. Jesus shed His blood and died to our past present and future sin. We are forgiven, we need to receive His forgiveness and be able to confess our sin. And they over came the enemy by the blood of the Lamb and the word of their testimony.
