Whether it’s been a difficult season or a season of growth and joy, we could all use some encouragement in our walk with the Lord. It’s amazing what little pieces of advice and inspiration we can gather from simple words and phrases. At the same time, words can hurt and tear down. I’m reminded of Proverbs 12:18, “There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.” Let the following words bring healing and encouragement to your heart today!
God’s strength, not yours
“Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
God’s great love
“The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their roaring. Mightier than the thunders of many waters, mightier than the waves of the sea, the Lord on high is mighty!” – Psalm 93:3 & 4
When prayer “isn’t working”
“Call to me and I will answer you, and will tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” – Jeremiah 33:3
“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” – John 16:33
Verses to live by
Prayer life goals
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.” – Philippians 4:6
“For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast.” – Ephesians 2:8 & 9
Trust in God
“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” – Jeremiah 29:11
In God’s hands
“He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away.” – Revelation 21:4
“Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. This is what the ancients were commended for. By faith we understand that the universe was formed at God’s command, so that what is seen was not made out of what was visible.” – Hebrews 11:1-3
