The Bible records that the risen Christ suddenly appeared to the apostles in both Judea (where Jerusalem was located, outside of which Jesus had been put to death) and in Galilee (the section of Israel where He had grown up and in which He had started His ministry) following His resurrection. He made these appearances in spite of constraints such as the apostles being behind locked doors (John 20:19; John 20:26), and the physical distance between Judea and Galilee.

I think that these appearances to them in multiple locations, and without regard to factors such as physical security, space, and time were intended to demonstrate to them that, in His glorified body, He was no longer bound by such limitations, and that He could and would therefore be with them no matter where they might be or go.

This assurance would enable them to have greater faith, and to obey with confidence and boldness Jesus' command to preach the gospel and make disciples, not just in Israel (as represented by Judea and Galilee), but in all nations (Matthew 28:20), despite any opposition or persecution that they might face (as Jesus had also told them would happen).
