Jesus knew that the motives of the accusers were insincere, another effort to entrap him. He revealed that they were all guilty of sin and needed to be honest with themselves. Even these hypocrites had to deal with the obvious consequences of their actions if they were to cast a stone after Jesus’ statement. We should all reflect on effects of our actions before we start casting stones - literally or spiritually.
