What does the Bible say about betrayal by family and by liars (Genesis 50:20, etc.)?

What Biblical exhortation(s) is there for help in the midst of being betrayed?

What did Jesus say about being betrayed, not His betrayal but our betrayal by other Christians or the unsaved?

Genesis 50:20

ESV - 20 As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.

Simply put, FORGIVE others as you have been forgiven. Jesus casts our offenses into the sea of forgetfulness, as far as the east is from the west, as though they never even happened. We are to do likewise if we are truly followers of him, for we are to be conformed to his image. And not just once as we tend to do, thinking we are extending mercy, when we have actually put limits where God did not on forgiveness.

We are to continue to forgive others, no matter how many times they offend or sin against us never to stop giving forgiveness because they keep missing it, but to continue forgiving them as though it never happened as many times as they need, because Jesus has extended this same mercy upon us.

“As far as you're concerned, you were planning evil against me, but God intended it for good, planning to bring about the present result so that many people would be preserved alive.”
Genesis 50:20 (ISV)

(Joseph is a wonderful picture of the Lord Jesus. Beloved of the Father; hated by His brethren; betrayed by those He knew and loved – only to be used of God to save His people from death and destruction. And our response to His betrayal should be to follow the exhortation given in Hebrews 12:3. And don't forget Jesus' command in Mark 11:25).

God's Word promises that false witnesses will be punished. God will put them to punishment that will be beyond human understanding. “A false witness will not go unpunished, and whoever pours out lies will not go free.” (Proverbs 19:5) -

This is God Himself promising that “a false witness will not go unpunished, and he who breathes out lies will not escape” (Prov 19:5). The truth that Jesus spoke, that “whatever you wish that others would do to you, do also to them, for this is the Law and the Prophets” (Matt 7:12), goes both ways. You would not want someone gossiping or betraying or not forgiving you, would you, so you must never gossip, betray, or be unforgiving of one another.-James Dina

We must cry out to the Lord for help.

-- Psalm 27:10 Even if my father and mother abandon me, the LORD cares for me.

Betrayal, lies, deceit is a huge topic in the Bible. The book is full.
Why, why? My guess is the human nature after the fall. The reason for such behavior, I guess mostly would be selfish.

It all began in Genesis. It continues through today! Do we ever learn? I think a good summary is found in 2 Samuel 12:1-13. There we find Nathan's parable and David's confession.

In Exodus 16:2,3 we have an example of morose selfish behavior.
"Then the whole congregation (the whole congregation) of the children of Israel complained against Moses and Aaron in the wilderness. And the children of Israel said to them,'Oh, that we had died by the hand of the Lord in the Land of Egypt, when we sat by the pots of meat and we ate bread to the full! For you have brought us out into the wilderness to kill the whole assembly with hunger.'" Selfish, ungrateful attitudes!

I think of Jacob and his mother, stealing the birthright and deceiving Isaac. Laban' s manipulation of his daughters' wedding.

In Ezekiel 17 there is an allegory of the eagles and the vine. The ending says that one day all will realize that God is sovereign..God does not like deceit in any form.

Power, greed, lust, riches, jealousy, the list is endless!

Psalm 116:11, "And I said in haste, 'All men are liars.'"

Colossians 3:9, "Do not lie to one another..."
