Is it possible that what John saw in Revelation 4 and 5 was the return of Jesus to Heaven after His Ascension?
Jesus is described by John as the "the Lamb who looked as if He had been killed." - perhaps recently. The entire scene in the throne room (Revelation 5) is one of extreme joy and worship...where the angels and other inhabitants seem to be so happy to see Jesus.
