1 Peter 3:18-22

Suffering for Righteousness' Sake

¹⁸ For Christ also _m suffered _{1 n} once for sins, the righteous for the unrighteous, _o that he might bring us to God, being put to death _p in the flesh but made alive _q in the spirit, ¹⁹ in which ₂ he went and _q proclaimed ₃ to the spirits in prison, ²⁰ because ₄ they formerly did not obey, _r when God's patience waited in the days of Noah, _s while the ark was being prepared, in which a few, that is, _t eight persons, were brought safely through water. ²¹ Baptism, which corresponds to this, _u now saves you, not as a removal of dirt from the body but _v as an appeal to God for a good conscience, _w through the resurrection of Jesus Christ, ²² who has gone into heaven and _x is at the right hand of God, _y with angels, authorities, and powers having been subjected to him.
