6While Jesus was in Bethany in the home of a man known as Simon the Leper, In this passage, Jesus states that he is more important than the poor. This seems idiotic because Christ shouldn't need the money or the oil, and spending money like that wastes money that could have gone to the poor. Because of waste like that, some people will starve, all because people value piousness over charity.
