Future Glory 18I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing with the glory that will be revealed in us.19The creation waits in eager expectation for the sons of God to be revealed.20For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope21that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the glorious freedom of the children of God.22We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time.23Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies.24For in this hope we were saved. But hope that is seen is no hope at all. Who hopes for what he already has?25But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently. 26In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groans that words cannot express. 27And he who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will.

Maketh intercession - The word used here ὑπερεντυνγχάνει huperentungchanei, occurs no where else in the New Testament. The word ἐντυνγχάνω entungchanō, however, is used several times. It means properly to be present with anyone for the purpose of aiding, as an advocate does in a court of justice; hence, to intercede for anyone, or to aid or assist in any manner. In this place it simply means that the Holy Spirit greatly assists or aids us; not by praying for us, but in our prayers and infirmities.
With groanings - With sighs, or that deep feeling and intense anxiety which exists in the oppressed and burdened heart of the Christian.
Which cannot be uttered - Or rather, perhaps, which is not uttered; those emotions which are too deep for utterance, or for expression in articulate language. This does not mean that the Spirit produces these groanings; but that in these deep-felt emotions, when the soul is oppressed and overwhelmed, he lends us his assistance and sustains us. The phrase may be thus translated: “The Spirit greatly aids or supports us in those deep emotions, those intense feelings, those inward sighs which cannot be expressed in language, but which he enables us to bear, and which are understood by Him that searcheth the hearts.”

In the midst of trials, sufferings, afflictions, confusion, or spiritual battle, Paul reminds us that we are experiencing something similar to birth pains as we groan for the glory that is wrought within us by the Holy Spirit. We have a great treasure, as it were, in a jar of clay (2 Cor. 4:7). In light of this, we will never know how to pray as we should -- our knowledge is too limited and our faith still only a mustard seed. And in the midst of especially bewildering and hard times, we may not know how to pray at all. Paul offers comfort, then, in that the divine Comforter whom God has given us as a deposit of our future inheritance is actually guarding us in Christ as we pray and present our requests to God (see also Philippians 4:4-7). He presents our deepest needs to the Father with the full knowledge that only God could have, as Paul teaches in the next few verses. The Spirit is indeed praying for us as the guard of our souls and working in us those prayerful groans which are fragrant offerings to God our Father.

we do not not need to come into prayer with things on our mind to pray for, but if we just open ourselves up to the holy spirit he will lay things on our heart to pray and interced for

Prayer here is something heartfelt, anguished... I don't think this is "if you don't know what to pray for the Spirit will fill in the blanks" more a sense that if the prayer is so deeply cried that our words will not express it, hence it comes out in "groans" and "sighs" that the Holy Spirit reads our innermost pains and aches, understand what we REALLY cry for and joins us in that prayer even if we cannot formulate the words or ways to express it.

We are taught to pray and given a template to go by "The Lord's Prayer". However many times we pray and don't know what we should be praying for. Isn't it comforting to know that the Spirit Himself intercedes on our behalf. It's like having a body guard always by your side.

Romans 8:26-28: If we limit our praying only to what we know with our reasoning then we are limiting ourselves from the many different facets of praying (Ephesian 6:18). Praying is just communicating with God. We communicate with God through the spirit in our language, unknown tongues, groaning(inarticulate speech), laughter, crying, et cetera. Here we have prayers that come deep down from the heart of man. The Holy Spirit helps us to express ourselves with God the Father. The Holy Spirit doesn’t do it for you, but He helps you express it and will lead you in the right direction. Some things in the Spirit just can’t be understood with people’s words and understanding. God is more interesting then having only one way to pray, He has many different facets to the believer's life of prayer to explore and pray all His perfect will.

Prayer is not about memorizing bible verses, being so experienced in the phrases we often heard when others were praying. It is a form of communication with a true living God. We can talk to him like a normal conversation with the help and guidance of the holy spirit. All we need to do is "start" the conversation and the holy spirit will guide us how to pray.

Praying in tongues. Just keep quiet and let the Holy Spirit Pray for you, on what you need. after you have prayed to God, be silent and still and quiet and just let the Holy Spirit make your biddings for you, 'with groanings which cannot be uttered'.

The Undetected Sacredness of Circumstances
We know that all things work together
for good to those who love God . . .
Romans 8:28
The circumstances of a saint’s life are ordained of God. In the life of a saint there is no such thing as chance. God by His providence brings you into circumstances that you can’t understand at all, but the Spirit of God understands. God brings you to places, among people, and into certain conditions to accomplish a definite purpose through the intercession of the Spirit in you.
Never put yourself in front of your circumstances and say, "I’m going to be my own providence here; I will watch this closely, or protect myself from that." All your circumstances are in the hand of God, and therefore you don’t ever have to think they are unnatural or unique. Your part in intercessory prayer is not to agonize over how to intercede, but to use the everyday circumstances and people God puts around you by His providence to bring them before His throne, and to allow the Spirit in you the opportunity to intercede for them. In this way God is going to touch the whole world with His saints.
Am I making the Holy Spirit’s work difficult by being vague and unsure, or by trying to do His work for Him? I must do the human side of intercession— utilizing the circumstances in which I find myself and the people who surround me. I must keep my conscious life as a sacred place for the Holy Spirit. Then as I lift different ones to God through prayer, the Holy Spirit intercedes for them.
Your intercessions can never be mine, and my intercessions can never be yours, ". . . but the Spirit Himself makes intercession" in each of our lives ( Romans 8:26 ). And without that intercession, the lives of others would be left in poverty and in ruin
Final Thought: As intercessors we must always remain available to be used by the Holy Spirit, remembering that, “He every makes intercession for us all”. To try and intercede without him would be like trying to breathe without lungs, or walk without feet and legs; so it would be should we try to intercede without the leading of the Holy Spirit. Always invite rather insist that He the Holy Spirit joins you when you pray, He will always be a welcomed companion to join you in prayer and intercession for those whom you interceder.
He’s always looking for someone to stand in the gap and intercede for mankind and this world we live in. What an honor it is to be not just willing but chosen by Him for such a wonderful task and service. Holy Spirit here am I use me as you will… but be advised He will, are you truly ready? Only you know for sure.
Keep in mind:
“The poor have a better relish of their enjoyments, and are often more thankful for them, than the rich. In like manner the proud and self-sufficient disdain the gospel; but those who hunger and thirst after righteousness, find comfort from the meanest book or sermon that testifies of Christ Jesus.” (Pr 27:8)
Be blessed today and always,
Love Mardina
