Chapter 43
Israel's Only Savior
1But now, this is what the LORD says—
he who created you, O Jacob,
he who formed you, O Israel:
“Fear not, for I have redeemed you;
I have summoned you by name; you are mine.

2When you pass through the waters,
I will be with you;
and when you pass through the rivers,
they will not sweep over you.
When you walk through the fire,
you will not be burned;
the flames will not set you ablaze.

3For I am the LORD, your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior;
I give Egypt for your ransom,
CushThat is, the upper Nile region and Seba in your stead.

4Since you are precious and honored in my sight,
and because I love you,
I will give men in exchange for you,
and people in exchange for your life.

5Do not be afraid, for I am with you;
I will bring your children from the east
and gather you from the west.

6I will say to the north, ‘Give them up!’
and to the south, ‘Do not hold them back.’
Bring my sons from afar
and my daughters from the ends of the earth—

7everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.”

8Lead out those who have eyes but are blind,
who have ears but are deaf.

9All the nations gather together
and the peoples assemble.
Which of them foretold this
and proclaimed to us the former things?
Let them bring in their witnesses to prove they were right,
so that others may hear and say, “It is true.”

10“You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD,
“and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.

11I, even I, am the LORD,
and apart from me there is no savior.

12I have revealed and saved and proclaimed—
I, and not some foreign god among you.
You are my witnesses,” declares the LORD, “that I am God.

13Yes, and from ancient days I am he.
No one can deliver out of my hand.
When I act, who can reverse it?”

1The former treatise(a long, detailed, formal piece of writing on some subject)have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,2Until the day in which HE was taken up, after that HE through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom HE had chosen:3To whom also HE shewed HIMSELF alive(RISEN) after HIS passion(CRUCIFIXION) by many INFALLIBLE proofs, being seen of them FORTY days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the KINGDOM of God(righteousness+peace+joy):4And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith HE, ye have heard of ME. 5For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence. 6When they therefore were come together, they asked of HIM, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?7And HE said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in HIS own power.8But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto ME both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the EARTH. 9And when HE had spoken these things, while they beheld, HE was taken up; and a cloud received HIM out of their sight.10And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as HE went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? This Same JESUS, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen HIM go into heaven.<>Acts 1:1-11<>Abba Father God Almighty<>Reconciled through Christ Jesus<>We exalt the WORD above all things<>Quick and Renewing yesterday,today and forever<>Amen<>F<\+/>S
